Our mission is to be the leading provider of first aid and related health services in South Australia.

St John Volunteers have been providing first aid services to the community for more than 125 years. Our First Aid Volunteers attend events across the state, including major events like Clipsal 500, Tour Down Under, City to Bay, AFL/SANFL and local football, music concerts and community fairs. Our exceptional standards mean our volunteer services are always in high demand.

As an agency participating under the Emergency Management Act, St John Volunteers are also called on to provide first aid assistance in times of crisis like bushfires, floods and other mass-casualty disasters. To prepare for emergencies, we need to frequently recruit and train new volunteers so they are ready to be deployed in times of great need at short notice.

While our mission demands skills and commitment, you need no prior skills or experience to become a St John volunteer. We are committed to providing our volunteers with the best possible first aid training and infrastructure to ensure that our volunteers are fully qualified and well equipped to perform potentially life-saving procedures.

Most of our training programs are nationally accredited and not only provide you with essential life-saving skills, but could also help enhance your career.

We ask you to complete advanced training and attend a minimum of one event a month in conjunction with ongoing training during the week.
