Our youth development program provides opportunities for young people to learn and grow. Underpinning our program are a range of skills and attributes which aim to develop team skills, communication, confidence, problem solving capability and personal resilience.
Our Cadet program, for members between 8 – 18 are led by adult members with an interest in working with children. The program supports the growth of young people by providing activities and experiences that encourage greater self-esteem, confidence and improved interpersonal skills. A highlight for our training program is our Annual First Aid competition, where members attend to a mock scenario, with the state champions representing South Australia at the National Competition in some categories.
Our first aid program is enhanced through courses in topics including Emergency Management, Cookery and Nutrition, Family Care, Communication and Public Relations. Additionally we hold a number of camps each year within South Australia, along with the National Cadet Camp, hosted in a different State or Territory each January.
