St John cadets are everyday kids doing extra-ordinary things…
St John Cadets is an active youth program for everyday kids. Whilst the emphasis is on First Aid you’ll also develop leadership and social skills through the programs and activities St John has to offer. But most of all being a St John Cadet is about having fun! There is a lot more to being a St John Cadet than First Aid. St John provides you with many opportunities and recognises your achievements.
Awards and Competitions Earn proficiency badges, aim for the Grand Prior’s Badge, opportunities to achieve Bronze, Silver or Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards and achieve recognition for attending public First Aid events.
SACE Units Youth (aged 14 years and older) can work towards obtaining Stage 1 SACE Units by being a St John Cadet, volunteering in the community.
Recreational Camps Develop your leadership and social skills and experience team bonding in a fun team environment at the annual St John Proficiency Camp. Attend the annual Angaston Camp and meet St John Cadets from other states at the National Cadet Camp.
Public Events Attend first aid events and assist in treating casualties under adult supervision and participate in the ANZAC Day Vigil, Dawn Service and March.
