The Caring for Kids course is designed for delivery to parents, grandparents and carers of young children up to the age of 12. This non-accredited course is delivered in a relaxed environment with no assessments, but plenty of hands-on practice for relevant first aid techniques. The topics covered in this course include managing unconsciousness, choking, bleeding, burns, respiratory distress and anaphylaxis, with time set aside to cover the topics you want too.
"As a new grandparent I thought it was time to brush up my First Aid skills. The 3 hour Caring for Kids course was very good for getting the basics across in a relaxed environment and giving some practice for techniques used on babies and young children. The take-home First Aid kit and reference book is also very good. I was interested to find out that some of the things that were standard practice when my children were young have changed, so that was useful too." - Pauline
"I decided to do the course because I have a now 10 month old daughter and have been intending to do it since she was born. I was mainly interested in learning how to deal with choking, and do CPR, so I found those two aspects of the course particularly excellent. It certainly has given me the confidence to know what to do if I face that situation. Three hours was jammed packed full of content, but it worked well for me. Overall, very happy with all aspects of the course as was my husband." - Sally
