St John SA Receives $35,000 Through Drakes Charity Showbag Program
St John Ambulance SA has received a $35,000 donation through the Drakes Charity Showbag program, thanks to the ongoing support of Drakes Supermarkets, its supplier partners and the South Australian community.
The iconic fundraiser has been supporting South Australian charities since 1999 and has raised more than $2 million for local organisations. Funds are generated through the sale of Drakes Charity Showbags, which are packed with products donated by generous suppliers and assembled by supported employees at Bedford Group's Elizabeth facility.
St John SA was one of five charity partners to benefit from this year's program, alongside Bedford Group, Flinders Foundation, The Hospital Research Foundation Group and SA Police Legacy.
The donation will help St John SA continue delivering first aid education, volunteer training, community programs and health services that support South Australians when and where they need them most.
St John SA Chief Executive Officer A/Prof Steve Morris said the organisation was grateful for the longstanding commitment shown by Drakes Supermarkets and the wider community.
"Community partnerships like this make a real difference. We are incredibly grateful to Drakes, their supplier partners and everyone who purchased a Charity Showbag. Their support helps us continue our work in communities across South Australia."
St John SA extends its sincere thanks to everyone involved in making the initiative possible.
