We deliver nationally recognised training in partnership with St John Ambulance Australia Limited (Registered Training Organisation 88041), as well as internally, and otherwise accredited and non-accredited training.

Public On-site

The aim of this course is to provide the necessary skills and knowledge to provide a first aid response to a range of injuries and illnesses. It is practically focused and provides the essential information required for confidence and competence in delivering basic first aid in a workplace or public setting. This course is appropriate for experienced first aiders and people who complete first aid training regularly.

 

Nationally Recognised Training

The CPR course provides the knowledge and skills to manage an unconscious casualty, and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation on a person who is unconscious and not breathing normally.

 

Nationally Recognised Training

This course is designed for people working on live or potentially live electrical switchboards and plant at low voltages. It equips them with the skills to manage the danger and provide first aid in the event of accidental electric shock or electrocution. This course meets one of the training requirements for electricians, as outlined by the Office of the Technical Regulator.

This course provides the knowledge and skills to manage emergency first aid situations, including managing the unconscious casualty, performing CPR, controlling bleeding and managing other life-threatening conditions. It is suitable for individuals wanting to cover the basic skills and knowledge to provide an emergency first aid response.

The 2-day Mental Health First Aid course teaches adults (18 years and over) how to provide initial support to adults who are developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health issue or crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves using a practical, evidence-based Action Plan.

This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals, and is externally accredited through Mental Health First Aid Australia.

 

Mental Health First Aid

This assessment focused course is specifically for those who are currently employed as electricians in the electrical service industry, and require refresher training for their current competency. To enrol in this course participants should hold current competency in HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation and UETTDRRF06 Perform a rescue from a live LV panel (last completed within 12 months of course commencement).

This assessment focused course is suitable for those who are confident in their first aid skills and only wish to be reassessed to meet requirements for competency. Students complete an eLearning module or refresh their knowledge prior to attending the class.

 

Nationally Recognised Training

The Provide Advanced Resuscitation course is designed for experienced first aiders who may be required to use specialised equipment in a first aid response. It develops advanced skills for providing life support, with a focus on the use of oxygen delivery systems and in-depth knowledge and skill in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Participants learn to handle and use oxygen therapy equipment including cleaning, storage, set up and administration of oxygen on conscious breathing, unconscious breathing and unconscious non-breathing casualties.

Advanced First Aid equips the participant for emergencies in both basic and high-risk environments, or to act as first aiders for larger facilities or groups. As well as the basics of first aid, it covers a broad range of advanced skills including the effective use of oxygen and an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), major trauma, emotionally disturbed or drug affected casualties.

 

Nationally Recognised Training

Occupational First Aid equips the participants to establish, maintain and facilitate the provision of first aid in a workplace environment, including the knowledge required to be responsible for a first aid room. It combines the fundamental and advanced skills and knowledge of first aid to identify and manage a variety of injuries and illnesses, including applying these skills in high risk work environments.This course is suitable for workers who hold the responsibility for providing and/or managing the first aid of worksites.

 

Nationally Recognised Training

This 3-day course equips participants with the knowledge and skills to provide appropriate first aid for an injured/ill casualty when help is likely to be delayed or inaccessible. It covers the skills and knowledge to treat a range of injuries and illnesses, and also includes additional content with prolonged and self-care, preparing for evacuation and creating first aid contingency plans. It is suitable for individuals whose interests, activities or work take them to remote or isolated locations.

 

Nationally Recognised Training

The Caring for Kids course is non-accredited, and is delivered in a relaxed environment with no assessments and plenty of hands-on practice for relevant first aid techniques. The topics covered in this course include managing unconsciousness, choking, bleeding, burns, respiratory distress and anaphylaxis, with time set aside to cover the topics participants choose as well. It is ideal for new parents, guardians and/or carers of young children, including baby sitters and grandparents.

Like the one-day course, the aim of this course is to provide the necessary skills and knowledge to provide a first aid response to a range of injuries and illnesses. This option allows more time to cover theory components and practice skills to gain confidence and competence in delivering basic first aid. It is the most suitable option for people who are new to first aid or where English is a second language.

 

Nationally Recognised Training

This course is specifically designed to meet the needs of educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to manage and respond to first aid emergencies with children. It covers child-specific first aid management in a range of illnesses and injuries, including asthma, anaphylaxis and resuscitation.

Students complete an e-Learning module prior to the course, and complete a one-day session with practice and assessment.

Combined Asthma & Anaphylaxis provides the skills and knowledge required to recognise and respond quickly in an anaphylaxis or asthma emergency, as well as looking at how to use asthma and anaphylaxis action plans, how to effectively use medications for these conditions and how to conduct an anaphylaxis/asthma risk assessment for the workplace/education setting. It is suitable for anyone who may have the responsibility of managing the first aid of an individual with anaphylaxis or asthma, and may meet requirements specified in Education and Care organisational policy.

Nationally Recognised Training

The Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Refresher Course is designed to give participants who have previously completed a 12-hour MHFA course an opportunity to refresh the skills and knowledge required of a Mental Health First Aider. Participants must hold a Standard Mental Health First Aid certification, and have achieved this within 3 years of the refresher training date.
